Vous avez en quelque sorte donné les droits d'exécution du fichier README, et le script update-grub
tente de l'exécuter. D'où les erreurs.
Alors supprimez les droits d'exécution
Sudo chmod -x /etc/grub.d/README
Je ne pense pas que votre problème soit que vous avez trop d'images du noyau dans/boot.
Il semble que vous ayez une erreur dans votre fichier de configuration grub. Il semble se briser ici:

Jetez un oeil à cette question sur linuxmint.com , elle semble être identique.
