Activer Multidex via build.gradle de votre module d'application

Puis suivez les étapes ci-dessous -

  1. Dans le menu Build -> appuyez sur la touche Clean Project.
  2. Une fois la tâche terminée, appuyez sur la touche Rebuild Project du menu Build.
  3. À partir du menu File -> Invalidate cashes / Restart

compile est maintenant obsolète il est donc préférable d'utiliser implementation ou api

J'utilise Android Studio 3.0 et je rencontrais le même problème. J'ajoute ceci à mon grade:

multiDexEnabled true

Et ça a marché!
