Disons que j'ai une machine (Arago Dist) avec un mot de passe utilisateur de 12 caractères alphanumériques. Lorsque je me connecte à Via SSH à l'aide de l'authentification par mot de passe, j'ai remarqué il y a quelques jours, que je ne puisse entrer que 8 des caractères de mot de passe ou que tout le mot de passe est suivi avec ce que je voudrais. Le résultat commun dans les deux situations est une connexion réussie. Pourquoi cela arrive-t-il?
Dans ce cas particulier, je ne veux pas utiliser l'authentification de clé publique basée sur plusieurs raisons.
En tant qu'info supplémentaire, dans cette distribution, les fichiers / etc/shadow et / etc/sécurité/stratégie.conf manquent.

Dans la discussion, il s'est avéré que le système utilisait le stockage traditionnel (non ombre) de mot de passe et un algorithme de hachage de mot de passe unix traditionnel. Les deux sont des choix médiocres dans l'environnement de sécurité d'aujourd'hui.
Étant donné que l'algorithme de hachage de mot de passe traditionnel ne stocke que et compare les 8 premiers caractères du mot de passe, cela explique le comportement remarqué dans la question initiale.

(ou éventuellement la bibliothèque de stockage PAM UNIX de mot de passe) sur ce système inclut une fonctionnalité de mot de passe shadow, mais pour une raison quelconque, le fournisseur système a choisi de ne pas l'utiliser.
Dans une distribution basée sur une bilade, comme une construction de YocTo est généralement, cela peut peut-être être corrigé en permettant aux options appropriées de la configuration Busybox. Cette solution suppose que vous avez les recettes et que vous pouvez construire votre propre image de système d'exploitation adaptée ou au moins une binaire d'achabilité appropriée. Il a également besoin d'algorithmes de hachage cryptographiques avancés (au moins SHA-256, meilleur SHA-512) étant disponible (de Libc).

Fichier, il est toujours possible pour chaque mot de passe individuel dans ce fichier à utiliser un système de hachage différent.
Alors que dans les dernières années, le système par défaut est l'une en utilisant de nombreuses itérations de SHA-2, il n'y a pas si longtemps que nous utilisions le traditionnel DES régime fondé qui non seulement imposé des restrictions à ce que les personnages pourraient être un mot de passe, mais seulement les 8 premiers caractères d'un mot de passe ont été inclus lors de son traitement. Vous pouvez donc saisir un mot de passe de 30 caractères, mais seuls les 8 premiers seraient utilisés pour vérifier le mot de passe.
Même si vous avez mis à niveau votre système depuis, tant que le mot de passe a été défini il y a assez longtemps qu'il utilisait un système plus ancien, il continuera d'utiliser ce système plus ancien jusqu'à ce que l'utilisateur modifie leur mot de passe. Il n'est pas possible de convertir un mot de passe HASH vers un nouveau système sans connaître le mot de passe. C'est une autre bonne raison de modifier votre propre mot de passe de temps en temps pour tirer parti de tout système de hachage de mot de passe plus récent disponible.

Si vous voulez voir quel schéma chacun des mots de passe de vos utilisateurs est d'utiliser, regardez votre /etc/shadow
Et regardez dans le champ de mot de passe.
Un hachage de mot de passe basé sur SHA-2 moderne commence par un "5 $" ou "6 $" et est plus long.
Et le vieux DES hash base ne démarre pas avec un signe de dollar et est plus courte.
Aussi possible à Linux est un hachage basé sur MD5 qui commence par un "$ 1" et est à mi-chemin entre une longueur comprise entre deux.
Les autres schémas énumérés dans l'article Crypt n'étaient pas habituellement utilisés dans les distributions Linux.
