Cela fait quelques jours que je cherche une solution. Ma question est .. Je dois déployer un projet dans Tomcat et en faire une webapp par défaut. J'ai copié mon fichier war et l'ai placé dans le dossier Tomcat/webapps. Démarré Tomcat et changé le port par défaut. Maintenant, je peux accéder à mon application sur http: // localhost/myapp . Ce que je veux, c'est voir mon application sur http: // localhost . Comment puis-je faire ceci?
J'ai pu le faire en ajoutant l'élément "Context" avec l'attribut path = "" sous Host dans le fichier server.xml.

Remarque: j'utilise Tomcat 7. J'ai également dû déplacer ma webapp vers un emplacement différent de celui du dossier webapps par défaut. J'ai également supprimé les applications Web par défaut fournies par Tomcat. Mais cette solution fonctionne même sans les supprimer.

Supprimez le Tomcat/webapps/ROOT
dossier (le cas échéant), renommez votre fichier WAR en ROOT.war
et redémarrez.
vous pouvez renommer votre application Web en ROOT (l'application par défaut pour Tomcat), ou vous pouvez utiliser un serveur Web qui peut gérer les noms de domaine et les redirections (comme Apache httpserver), et y configurer votre site.
La première approche n'est pas très élégante, mais rapide et efficace.
créez index.html sur webapps/ROOT avec ci-dessous.
