Je suis passé de 13.04 à 13.10 aujourd'hui et tout se passe bien, sauf une chose. J'ai une configuration à double moniteur et chaque fois que je redémarre, les écrans ont changé de place (écran gauche sur le moniteur droit et vice versa). J'ai correctement créé un xorg.conf qui est montré ci-dessous.
J'ai essayé toutes les solutions suggérées dans ces deux articles:

Les pilotes Nvidia semblent ignorer xorg.conf personnalisé dans 13.10? Comment configurer?
y compris la vérification de ~/.config/monitor.xml
que je n'ai pas. Charger le nvidia-setting au moment de l'exécution en utilisant nvidia-settings -l
qui ne fait rien. Mais cela a du sens pour moi car le .nvidia-setting-rc
ne contient pas vraiment d’informations sur les positions d’écran. Et puisque j'utilise LXDE comme environnement de bureau, "Préférences-> Paramètres du moniteur" concerne uniquement la résolution de l'écran, et non la position de l'écran.
Voici ce qui est étrange: lorsque lightdm se charge, les écrans sont d’abord dans le bon ordre (comme spécifié dans le fichier xorg.conf), puis changent d’ordre après quelques secondes.
Dans mon Xorg.0.log j'ai trouvé la ligne suivante

que je crois pourrait très bien être le coupable. Il semble que le pilote nvidia remplace les paramètres de xorg.conf après le fait, même si je ne lance pas nvidia-settings au démarrage, pour autant que je sache.
EDIT:
Je viens de mettre à niveau de nvidia-304 à nvidia-319 et maintenant mes soupçons sont confirmés car le journal de démarrage du serveur x est un peu plus clair. Les lignes pertinentes sont:

Ce que j'ai découvert, c'est que le message de journal qui signale le remplacement des paramètres de xorg.conf est causé par un appel à xrandr (comme je le fais moi-même à partir de la ligne de commande pour régler les écrans dans le bon ordre).
Vous trouverez ci-dessous mon fichier journal x-server. Veuillez noter que les deux dernières entrées, à env. 31.5 secondes sont dues au fait que j’ai appelé xrandr à partir de la ligne de commande avec les paramètres corrects.

Le problème semble être que lightdm réinitialise les écrans sur un ordre qui lui semble approprié une fois le fichier xorg.conf chargé. (Je ne comprends pas maintenant pourquoi ni comment supprimer cette information et je trouverais utile que certains puissent nous éclairer.)
Donc, pour résoudre ce problème, la solution simple est de changer le gestionnaire d’affichage. Voir ici
Si vous souhaitez conserver lightdm, la solution la plus compliquée consiste à installer arandr. Exécuter. Configurez vos écrans comme vous le souhaitez et enregistrez la configuration. Cela enregistrera un script Shell qui configurera votre configuration à chaque exécution. Alors maintenant, vous devez ajouter la ligne suivante à /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
session-setup-script=<location of the script you saved with arandr>
Cela vous donnera la configuration correcte du moniteur dès que vous entrerez dans votre session.

Il existe en fait un moyen plus simple de résoudre ce problème.

copy ~/.config/monitors.xml to /var/lib/lightdm/.config
Cela obligera lightdm à utiliser exactement la même configuration que votre profil utilisateur.
J'ai passé trop de temps avec exactement le même problème: X charge les paramètres corrects, puis, lorsque je me connecte, les paramètres sont remplacés.
